About WineGirl Wines

Located in the heart of Seattle, Washington, WineGirl Wines, LLC is the parent company that encompasses the assorted wine labels made by WineGirl.

WineGirl began making wine in 2001 when she made her first two cases of Pinot Noir. Since then, she has released five additional vintages under the ΦHPA (pronounced fear-ra) or Firá Label. ΦHPA is Greek for fire and also refers to an ancient city on the main island of Santorini in Greece. The islands are formed by the rim of an underwater volcano which last erupted to completely destroy the small village of ΦHPA, hence the word fire. PS: They have fabulously unique Greek wines on Santorini, too!

About WineGirl

Life hasn't been all wine for WineGirl. She started off like everyone else a Wino-bee, working at a fast-paced, Italian restaurant. Luckily for WineGirl, the restaurant felt that the servers had to be familiar with how the wines tasted in order to make reccomendations to customers. Sweet! Among the amazing, WineGirl discovered the always fabulous Cesari Amarone and fell head over heels for Archery Summit Pinot Noir. (This was way before Sideways.)

Soon it was off to college, where WineGirl was studiously (a-hem) seeking a higher awareness. Among her finest academic achievements, she completed The Wine Levels of Hell for a final project in a class on Dante's Divine Comedy. Hmm... Does a bodacious French Bordeaux belong in the eighth level of hell or should it really be a Californian Zinfandel? How sinful is Champagne and in what does Lucifer bathe? Is Dante's amphora half full or half empty? All extremely important wino-sophical questions, WineGirl thinks.

For study abroad, WineGirl was off to Europe. Did you know there's no "real" drinking age in Europe? Old World wines look out! From Austrian Grüner Veltliner (Groon-er Felt-leen-air) to Hungarian Tokay, WineGirl was in Paradise. But, what sealed the deal, what blew WineGirl's mind was a Pinot Noir from Romania. For the first time ever, she understood what a win-O-gasm could be. A deep, luscious dark red cherry popped in her mouth. WineGirl's mission was born: to make the finest wine possible! In Vino Veritas et Vitae!

After graduation, WineGirl harvest hopped around the world for three years from one spectacular winery to the next. First, Sonoma, CA at St. Francis Winery and Vineyards, then Down Under, New Zealand at Delegat's Wine Estate in Auckland, and back to the US to none other than Archery Summit in the Willamette Valley of OR. Simply a dream come true for a lover of fine wine and worldly experiences.

Throughout these experiences, WineGirl began dreaming up her own venture. She imagined a small business that truly reached her friends and family. She wanted to share with them the true beauty she had discovered in wine and make it fun for all of them. But above all, she wanted to celebrate the goodness of a life filled with their laughter and her wine.
