June 28: I thought the Malbec was gonna be good, OMG! The Kamari Cab Franc will knock your jalapeno socks off!

June 21: Bottled the Malbec, Watch out, this is one impressive wine!.

June 12: Just received our bottles for the new vintage. Can't wait to have some new releases, just in time for summer.

June 8: Dude, Where's my summer? I thought this was the land of the endless sun. Nothing but rain.

SPRING 2010

May 2010

May 14: Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning to get the place ready.

May 10: Kitchen is coming together nicely. Almost there.

May 8: Happy Manson Apple Blossom Festival. The parade route was right out front. Everyone looked great.

May 1: Building the tasting bar. Granite slabs on wine barrels!

April 2010

Apr 30: Found some nice windows and doors for the wine cave.

Apr 25: Landscaping the grounds around the new place. Looks good.

Apr 12: Finally prepped and painted our new winery floor. It was such a process.

Apr 8: Erecting the wine cave, a cold room, for barrel storage.

Apr 2: Collecting shiny applicances for the kitchen and winery.

March 2010

Mar 29: The crew hoisted a wine barrel up and onto our signpost out front. The Blending Room opens in May 2010.

Mar 22: Is it spring yet? It's still cold here in Chelan.

Mar 26: Shopping for black granite for the tasting bar and bathroom counter. It's going to look great.

Mar 24: We're destructing things and constructing other things all day and all night.

Derby Inspired Wines

2007 My Derby Wife Merlot - Wahluke Slope

My Derby Wife was inspired by the Rat City Rollergirls of Seattle, WA. This medium-bodied Merlot from the Wahluke Slope is sure to knock your socks off! It's full tannin structure and cherry blossom bouquet perfectly define the rough and tumble, yet "pretty, pretty princess" imagery found among the awesome women who define roller derby today. My Derby Wife features pin-up style rollergirl artwork by Krysztof Nemeth.

As I like to say: "You better not make my derby wife mad, because my derby wife can beat up your derby wife!"

My Derby Wife's only true pairing is a kick-ass roller derby bout.
