Firá Wines
ΦHPA is Greek for fire and also refers to an ancient city on the main island of Santorini in Greece. The islands are formed by the rim of an underwater volcano which last erupted to completely destroy the small village of ΦHPA, hence the word fire. PS: They have fabulously unique Greek wines on Santorini, too!
2008 Firá Chardonnay - Columbia Valley
![]() |
A luscious yet friendly Chardonnay, fresher than a hickey on a Catholic school girl's neck on the first day of class.
This Chardonnay is a true example of the style of Chardonnay for which Washington is becoming known. Crisp, clean, citrus and honey suckle notes truly exemplify the stunning power of the Chardonnay grape as intended by nature. This Chardonnay wine was fermented and aged in 100% French oak barrels, allowing only the true characteristics of the grape to shine through in each sparkling glass.
Crab cakes and lightly sautéed green beans fresh from the garden will accompany this for a truly spectacular summer evening.
Bottled: July 2009

The ΦΗΡΑ Labels
A fabulously successful vintage of Red Mountain Wines from Washington State. The Merlot is a spectacular rendition of a Washington Merlot, fruity and light. The 100% Cab Franc is a full, thick, tannic, musty example of a little known varietal. And the Cab Sav exhibits both fruit and fine tannins finishing smooth chocolatey.
