Chelan: April 9th-12th, 2009
This last weekend was a wink into the life that will be, very soon. Jon, Richard and I cleared fallen windbreak trees from the Sesto Cielo vineyard in Chelan this last weekend. We weren’t all too efficient, in light of weenie craftsman chainsaws and a little sewing machine of a tractor. But none the less, we were given a glorious glimpse into the life of a vineyard manager, from the urban perspective, of course. The first day was nice. The Taste of Washington event went off like the ten or so years before; a large mass of people gaggling at the poor winemakers for wine, and the poor winemakers trying to keep a nose up as they watch two free cases go down the drain.
