’07 Kamari Malbec release

Posted by on Aug 30, 2009

New: Check out party video linked here! ‘Movies and Malbec’ was a success. It was a glorious evening of fine wine and flickering films. WineGirl Wines unleashed the 2007 Kamari Black Label Malbec upon the world and set the mood with 16mm moving pictures. We saw Charlie Chaplin’s “The Rink”, the animated ‘Naughty Nellie’ with the songs of Clinic, ‘Hannah and the Dog Ghost’, and Hans’ Richter’s ‘Ghosts Before Breakfast’. Ian Wood’s ‘Tsunami Escape’ with The Velvet Underground as background sound was well...

Preparing for the Malbec release

Posted by on Aug 28, 2009

It’s big work to prepare for even a small wine release event. This most recent event was to be for our 2007 Kamari Malbec. The preparations for ‘Movies and Malbec’ were to be minimal. We planned for a relaxed night of films projected large outdoors with good friends, the perfect setting to unveil a lovely new wine. The weather, however, looked uncooperative. Label of the Month: LotM for September

Posted by on Aug 26, 2009

I’m ahead of myself for this month! Woo! This month’s label was inspired by my most recent trip to the Willamette Valley, where I sipped stupendous Pinot Noir and reminisced about my time working at Archery Summit as an intern. I came across...

Willamette Valley Wine Tasting

Posted by on Aug 26, 2009

I went down to the Willamette Valley this last weekend on a whirlwind trip to visit my good friend Liz. I drove down with her little brother Tre, which was pretty fun. On the way down, we even saw a DeLorean Gang. Four rustless DeLoreans driving through Olympia. Then it was off to the Willamette Valley on Saturday. We stopped by Sokol Blosser first and tasted through six fine wines from the white Evolution, to the red Meditrina, and the set of fabo Pinot Noirs. Umm, my fave. A wine after my own heart. Then it was off to find Maysara, which is Farsi for House of Wine. This winery was a...

Tasting for the Ladies

Posted by on Aug 25, 2009

Last week the mother Hill had her East Coast fiends visit the left coast for the first time ever! So it was a wild week and whirlwind trip that could have put the straight in any girl’s curls. This was my first introduction to Dottie, Del, and Carolyn. Then, along come the lovely Lila from Sun Valley and we had the culmination of the “Wild Women” as T-bo put it. So what else do wild women from the east coast do when they visit their left coast counter parts? Well, throw a wine party of course. Our hostess pulled out all of the stops. With smoked salmon and cheese galore we...
