We’re getting close to bottling our 2007 My Derby Wife Merlot. That’s right, WineGirl Wines’ newest offering is inspired by the great sport of roller derby and specifically by Seattle’s Rat City Rollergirls. Here’s some photos of us moving some tanked ’07 Merlot to prepare for blending with another excellent Merlot that’s still in barrel. Our aging tank is our holding tank is our blending tank, so daily operations require some careful planning or quick thinking.
We like the color dark, dark. We won’t filter this wine to retain all that beautifully rich red.
The hardest part of the day was trying to reach the tank lid. Someday I’ll construct a pulley system so there will be no more feet in the air trying to reach the lid deep in the tank.
