Seattle Magazine’s Best Emerging Wine Region: Lake Chelan
As you may know, last spring the Lake Chelan wine region received its very own federal AVA designation. Since then, there’s been growing enthusiasm about the area as a great wine producing region. We’re on that train for certain. Now Seattle Magazine has named Lake Chelan the state’s ‘Best Emerging Wine Region’ in a recent article, 2010 Best Washington Wines. Here’s a quote from the piece: Though it currently has only 260 planted acres, the area is developing a reputation for excellent fresh, crisp Riesling and Chardonnay, as well as Pinot Gris and...
Read MoreThe Sign
You may have followed our adventures raising the wine barrel into position on our new signpost. If so, you may have noticed the perfect space below the barrel for our true signage for The Blending Room. WineGirl had cunning plans for the Washington Wineburst icon to lure people in from miles away and redesigned the logo to fit neatly into the sign space. Inspired by fond memories of elementary school postermaking, Angie and Delice went to work projecting the design onto freshly whitewashed signboards. They traced the lines, then painted the pink. The public service that is Spellout Seattle has something to say about WineGirl Wines. More specifically, they mention a wine deal offered to past and future fans by Premier Cellars. Three of our fine wines were offered online for a great price, but I’ll let you just read the page since they explain it purdy well. While you’re there, check out other recommended events. Spellout Seattle is a site devoted to bringing news of arts and events costing less than $25. In one week, the site has selflessly alerted me to quite a few dangerous events such as the Seattle Cheese Fest, the...

Angela took on a project to decorate the inside and outside of the new winery with wine barrels. Old, grey, weathered barrels wouldn’t do, of course. She decided to stain the centers of the barrels, not with red, red wine but, with wood stain to match the color of wine spillage. Only in cases of serious mistake does wine spillage stain a barrel so uniformly. They turned out really nice; so nice that we used some to hold up our new tasting room bar and hold down our signpost. There were still enough to decorate the outer grounds too. Nice work,...
Read MoreWhere’s Wino? Update.
A very good question we at WineGirl Wines are often asked is, “Where can I find your wines?” A full list of retail places with our wines can be found on this page. Every so often I provide a spotlight on one of these places. Soon I’ll be telling you all about Chantanee Thai Restaurant. Today, though, I’ll just give a little update on who’s carrying what. Chantanee Thai Restaurant and the Naga Lounge are featuring our Kamari Black Label Reserve Red Wine Blend on their menus. Chantanee and Naga are located in Bellevue, Wash. Marketime is showing off our ‘My...
