You may have followed our adventures raising the wine barrel into position on our new signpost. If so, you may have noticed the perfect space below the barrel for our true signage for The Blending Room. WineGirl had cunning plans for the Washington Wineburst icon to lure people in from miles away and redesigned the logo to fit neatly into the sign space.
Inspired by fond memories of elementary school postermaking, Angie and Delice went to work projecting the design onto freshly whitewashed signboards. They traced the lines, then painted the pink.

I was able to monkey up and conquer my fears of vertigo. I carefully scaled the pole and caught the huge sign launched airborne by my capable ground team. It was a successful group effort in knot tying, ratchet strapping, heave hoeing, and screw tightening. We were lucky the weather held out just long enough to get the last nut secured, so I could get down on solid ground before the hail fell from heavens. Maybe that was a sign to stay off tall signpoles.

It has now survived several moderate to severe wind events, hail, snow, sideways rain and a little sun with no wear to show for the storms. It looks like this sign is here to stay. I hope you find yourself drawn in by it.

That’s a lovely sunset photo. Or is it sunrise? Everything on that side of the mountains is so foreign and odd to me.
It’s a splendid looking piece of signery either way.
Thanks Patrick. It’s a lovely spot, indeed.
