Last week the mother Hill had her East Coast fiends visit the left coast for the first time ever! So it was a wild week and whirlwind trip that could have put the straight in any girl’s curls. This was my first introduction to Dottie, Del, and Carolyn. Then, along come the lovely Lila from Sun Valley and we had the culmination of the “Wild Women” as T-bo put it. So what else do wild women from the east coast do when they visit their left coast counter parts? Well, throw a wine party of course. Our hostess pulled out all of the stops. With smoked salmon and cheese galore we...

WineGirl Wines’ Kamari Black Label is now available for sale in stores. Well, it’s for sale in a store. In the past, we were able to get our wines onto the lips of the public through direct sales. As WineGirl Wines grows, so too must our reach to potential new fans. This week, QFC on Mercer Island (near Seattle, Washington) made a place on their shelves for our Kamari Cabernet Franc. It fits quite nicely I’d say. Also, this week Full Pull Wines selected Kamari Cabernet Franc and Firá Chardonnay to be part of its growing wine list. Full Pull specializes in offering boutique...

Joel, Korin, and Elise joined us for a night of fun bottling and labeling pleasure. They were super troopers. We had a real Henry Ford system going on with Korin moving boxes and bottles, Joel filling bottles, moving bottles, and foiling bottles. At the end of the day we managed to finish about 12 cases of the chardonnay again after a fight with the refilter apparatus. Good bonding times with the [NEW] east coast family! It was such a please to meet the new fam, and they were even able to make it to the wine party for tasting their hard work! Pictures to come…

Woo! how many days does it take to bottle 150 cases of wine? Well, the first was a serious trooper day where the Dave Jr. rocked the charts sitting through 50 cases of Chardonnay! Other volunteers made their way through the bottling line performing all aspects of the bottling process from sanitizing to a little quality control, of course. Jesus Kirstina and Benriqué were back on the seen. Then Davito and his lady Tiajuana were back to cap out the bottling experience with 50 cases of our Black Label Reserve Blend. And who could forget the quality control Meistro Pianito. So for four or was it...

This year’s bottling adventure began with the tanked wine; 120 gallons of Chard i nay. If you love soaping, scrubbing and rinsing, winemaking is the career for you. And even though I love cleaning, we enlisted the assistance of a couple faithful and curious winos. The stack of empty glass was daunting to be sure, but a waiting cooler of icy cold malted beverages convinced our helpers to stick around. T’was grand to dig out some equipment that we only get to play with once each year. That’s just long enough to forget the tricks learned last year. And another year brings...
