One place in the Greater Seattle area that you can enjoy our Kamari Black Label Reserve is a little place called Chantanee Thai Restaurant in beautiful Bellevue, Wash. This restaurant boasts excellent SE Asian cuisine and its very own craft bar, the Naga Lounge. The main man behind the bartop is Mister Michael McSorley. He has a way with mixing flavors and can explain the history and chemistry behind the drink in front of you and why it tastes just right.
We are lucky to have Chantanee featuring our 2007 Kamari Black Label Reserve Red Wine Blend. It’s a bold wine that can stand up to Thai spices about as well as any wine. Not an easy feat.
It’s worth the trip to chat with a fine mixologist about all things booze and enjoy some spicy eats between revelations.

UPDATE: Barman Mike has moved on from Chantanee to bigger and better things. You can still go there to find our 2007 Kamari Black Label Reserve. Follow Mike and his drink making adventures at McSology.

The University of Washington Foster School of Business had their annual Challenge for Charity Auction this past weekend at the Chateau Ste Michelle winery. The auction raised net proceeds over $100,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of King County and the Special Olympics of Washington. What’s even more exciting is that the Foster School of Business has now contributed over $1,000,000 to our amazing charities.
As WineGirl, it has always been my dream to lead my passion in way a that gives back to my community. As owner of WineGirl Wines, I can now proudly say that I have been able to realize this dream. In January of 2009, WineGirl Wines donated a case of 2007 Red Mountain Firá Merlot to the C4C Auction, which was followed by our August of 2009 Release Party sponsorship of The Treehouse for foster children. Then a donation to the Wine for Haiti Fundraiser followed by this year’s donation to Challenge for Charity of 2007 Wahluke Slope My Derby Wife Merlot made it our third and fourth official donations to build community.
This is small in comparison to the amazing ways others have given back to our community, but it is a committed start to a lifelong dream. It would be such a blessing if I could continue to help, so that the children of these charities may lead their passions and realize their dreams. Thanks to all of you for helping make this dream come true for me and helping to grow this small act of charity with WineGirl Wines!
Ciao,
WineGirl

Local winemaker, yours truly, and cellarmaster stud Jon arrived about 5:45PM to set up. They had a little table ready near the door for us, very cozy. We set up the Firá Chardonnay on a little ice bath and then pulled the cork on the Kamari Malbec. We also had our Bordeaux-style blend the Black Label Reserve ready for tasting, too. It was a slow start as there was a true Seattle chill to the air, but you’d think since it wasn’t raining the ladies would be out i force! Slowly but surely they began to trickle, in mostly in pairs. The first set were very happy to try a nice wine tasting and immediately ordered a bottle of the Black Label Reserve for their table. Nice! we’re on a role.

Then some friends from about town showed up! Now the night was getting fun. Margo & Michelle, aka Scooter, who was also my physical therapist from when I sprained my ankle in derby back in January of 2008 arrived. They were super excited to taste our wines and found the Malbec to be their fave. They both play rugby with the Seattle Women’s Rugby team as well as Dereka who too showed up with her lady Danni! Danni plays derby with me as Dee-triot and she suggested the wine rendez-vous in the first place. So it was such a treat to briefly catch up with them all!

So, it was a fantastic night and we met lots of amazing people and kindred spirits especially Rochelle and Annie of Swirl. Hope to see you all next time.
Cheers,
